I Lied

I can post more pictures of flowers, and I will. They're just too pretty not to share with you. But it's for the tulips, and our souls, so it's okay.

Tulips originally came to The Netherlands from Turkey. They need sandy soil to grow well, which Holland has.

Facts about Keukenof from the official website:
  • Keukenof means "kitchen garden," which it originally was.
  • It has won prizes as Europe’s most valued attraction.
  • It is one of the most popular attractions in the Netherlands and has had more than 44 million visitors in the last 60 years.
  • It is the most photographed place in the world. (They claim. Not sure how you can verify that, but pretty much everyone but Graybeard was snapping pictures when we were there, so who knows.)
  • Seven million flower bulbs are planted are by hand each year.
  • It is the most beautiful Spring Garden in the world. (It must be. If there's a prettier spring garden somewhere, please tell me, and I will plan my trip.)
  • This year Keukenhof celebrates its 62nd anniversary.
  • The Flower bulb Information Pavilion provides information about bulb growing. (Just so you know. Next time you happen to pass by and all.)

Don't you feel better now? If you could cover your yard in flowers, would you? Which ones?

  1. I am a big fan of tulips and Holland as well. I have serious flower jealousy now. I think if I had to pick a flower to cover our little garden in it would probably be bluebells. Love em.

  2. Wow, absolutely gorgeous.
